Kudos to director Gautham Vasudev Menon for bringing out a wonderful film like Haris Jayaraj impresses with his soothing music. Though the film is of 2 hours 50 minutes duration you don’t feel it lengthy. At times it is philosophical by saying that whatever happens life has to go on. There are no comedians in the film but still the film has sequences to make you laugh. Kannada girl Divya Spandana and Simran were apt in their roles. Sameera Reddy is simply superb in her histrionics as Surya’s love at first sight. The rest is all about how the grief stricken son recollects his father’s association, how he was his hero, all this while sitting in the Army chopper. His son Major Surya, who was on a rescue mission was informed of the news. The film starts off with Krishnan suffering from throat cancer and dying in the first five minutes of the film. There is love (love at first sight), romance and heart-breaking moments when hero parts with his beloved in the film. How Krishnan remains an inspiration to his son by guiding him in every walk of his life and thereby setting an example of the best father in this fairy tale. After Surya was born the couple decides to give the best ever to their son. It is about Krishnan played by Suriya who falls in love with Malini enacted by Simran. Suriya dons dual role as a father and son with ease and elan in the film.
